API honors pipeline companies for top safety and environmental performance
WASHINGTON, April 18, 2012 - Today API presented environmental and safety awards to several U.S. pipeline companies at its 63rd Annual Pipeline Conference in Phoenix, Arizona.
API awarded its 2011 Distinguished Award for Outstanding Occupational Safety and Environmental Performance to Koch Pipeline Company in the large pipeline operator category for the second straight year. Portland Pipe Line Corporation received the award in the small pipeline operator category.
Other companies honored in the small operator category include CITGO Pipeline Company which received the Environmental and Safety Performance Awards and Wolverine Pipe Line Company which won the Safety Performance Award. In the large operator category, ConocoPhillips won the Safety Performance Award.
The Occupational Safety Award is presented to companies with lowest OSHA recordable incidents for employees and contractors. The Environmental Performance Award is presented to companies with a track record of stellar environmental performance.
